Constant Obsession: Treehouses

I never had a treehouse as a kid. I don’t think I know anyone who did. I’ve been slowly making a canopy for my bed so that I can feel like I’m tucked away in a treehouse or a fort {we loved making forts when I was a kid}, but what I really want is a treehouse. These photos are from baumraum. I would love to have one of these to hide out in.

Oh, and I should note that I did have a super sweet cabin under an evergreen when I was a little one. My grandfather and Uncle Jim built it for me and my brother and I would fill glass jars with grass and fireflies and sit in there at night using them as lanterns during summer visits. I remember the way it smelled, the way it was always damp, the moss that clung to the logs after a few summers . . . it was probably my favorite place in the whole entire world.

I had a treehouse as a kid, it’s still there but now my dad has taken the ladder down because it got so rusty. But the treehouse is still up only it’s rotting and probably wouldnt hold me if i tried to climb up to it. it’s depressing.
